The Dagg Sea Scrolls

Television (Full Length) – 2006

In this greatest hits style compilation, John Clarke outlines the history of New Zealand's most famous farmer Fred Dagg: from describing Dagg's origins during Clarke's childhood, to the farmer's first TV appearance — duck shooting on Willis St — to hit albums and "accidentally" writing national anthem 'We Don't Know How Lucky We Are'There are a feast of excerpts from Dagg's TV skits, plus 1976 concert A Bit of a Dagg. There's also extended footage of Dagg's classic Country Calendar episode, which Clarke singles out as being the happiest and "most successful expression of the Dagg ethos".

It can be carbon dated to 1973 — whatever it is.
