Lost in Translation 9 - The Henry Williams Sheet (episode nine)

In the penultimate episode of his show about the Treaty of Waitangi, Mike King heads to the Kapiti Coast to gather stories from descendants of renowned Māori leaders who signed the Henry Williams treaty sheet. Famed for first translating the treaty into Māori and encouraging many northern signatures, Reverend Williams was one of the treaty's biggest advocates. King follows Williams' journey as he seeks the prized signature of chief Te Rauparaha. King also meets descendants of two female chiefs; they talk spell casting, rangatiratanga (chieftainship) and the last recorded act of cannibalism on Kapiti Island.

Henry was asked to go along with Ngāpuhi on war expeditions ... unlike the British way, where it was all in lines and everyone was regimentedly positioned, he said it was just everyone out there doing it — it was just a free for all.
