This was the 1974 end of year special for this Christchurch-based music show (with a number of acts performing in exterior locations around the Garden City). A stellar cast includes Steve Gilpin (prior to Mi-Sex), Rob Guest (before musicals fame), Space Waltz (in technicolor glam rock glory), Annie Whittle (in the daffodils on the banks of the Avon), Rockinghorse (featuring ‘Nature' composer Wayne Mason), Mark Williams (sparkling in lurex), Beaver (in full flight) and the archly named Drut who come complete with pyrotechnics (and really have to be seen to be believed).

Nev you are still cool :-)

What a great clip of the Chapa in Hagley Park - Dick Watson a great singer now lives in Aus (still singing).
I really hope they haven't destroyed the older Popco episodes - I want to see clips of Link (Only time Could Let Us Know) and Ticket (Mr Music).

Claire Raine now lives in Melbourne Australia - She would love to make return tour to NZ

fantastic footage. Steve Gilpin as I have never seen him before - those platform heels!! Unreel, RIP.. xoxooxoxox

Wow Pop Co was pretty happening for 1974 !.
Interesting David McPhail producer.
Avalon could have learnt a thing or two from this, i meen RTR was GR8, but this is better.
Loved part 3 showing ChCh in one piece with the dancers, and Space Waltz in colour and the complete clip, and Wellington rockers Rockinghorse.
Do NZOS have any Loxene Golden Disc Awards film or is it all lost or dumped.
Thanks for the classic gold NZOS, oh and the NZBC colour is Fab !. ;-)
