Literature — local and global — is celebrated and critiqued in the third season of The Good Word. Across 15 episodes, presenter Emily Perkins hosts a book club where three panelists provide their thoughts on a novel. Actor Jennifer Ward-Lealand , ex censor Bill Hastings and broadcaster Gordon McLauchlan are frequent guests. Perkins then introduces a celebrity or artist who discusses their favourite book, before the show leaves the studio to visit a New Zealand writer at the place they work. Finally, Finlay Macdonald hosts 'Under the Covers', which deep dives on a piece of literature important to Aotearoa; from novels to cookbooks to children's books. Find the full episode guide here.
