Friday Night Bites - Series One
Web (Full Length Episodes) – 2016
Following the Friday night escapades of three Auckland flatmates, this web series stars co-creators Ally Xue, JJ Fong and Perlina Lau. Co-creator Roseanne Liang directs. With episodes between two and seven minutes a pop, Friday Night Bites is exactly as advertised — 28 bite-sized comedy morsels. Exploring the experience of being a 20-something Asian-Kiwi in the city, the series mines humour in topics like dating, sex, race, flatting and parental expectations. En route, there are musical face-offs (episodes four and 18), movie tributes, and many guests, including Tian Tann, Lisa Chappell, Baby Mama's Club and Viva La Dirt League. The Flat3 quartet went on to make award-winning series Creamerie.
