Footrot Flats: The Dog's (Tail) Tale features the characters from Murray Ball's Footrot Flats, New Zealand's most loved local cartoon strip. This 1986 film was NZ's first animated feature. It was promoted with a series of Kiwiana questions such as: Will Wal become an All Black? Will Cooch recover his stolen stag? Will the Dog win your hearts and funny bones? In 1986 the answer was ‘Yes' all round. The above promo is cut to the Dave Dobbyn-Herbs song 'Slice of Heaven' which, like the film, was a huge hit in NZ and Australia.
