After a rough week at sea aboard a brigantine sailing ship, the Hutton family are beginning to settle into their voyage in reality series Colonial House, where the 2002 family lives as they would have in 1852 while making the journey to New Zealand. Daily life aboard ship still has its challenges: Mum Dorothy makes do with their limited meal rations, Dad Ross attempts a shaky shave with a cut-throat razor, while the kids entertain themselves with traditional games. But, when they finally arrive in Lyttelton, the Huttons still face the long journey over the Port Hills to Christchurch, carrying their belongings by packhorse.
