This long-running sports panel quiz show pitted two teams in a battle of sporting trivia and laughs. Hosted first by Eric Young and (from 2001) Tony Veitch, it featured as team captains former rugby players Marc Ellis and Matthew Ridge. In each episode, two sporting guests joined the panel to weigh in on the week’s big moments, and test their sporting smarts. Touchdown Productions produced the series for TVNZ. It went on to run for a decade from 1999 to 2009, and win Best Entertainment Programme at the 2006 TV Guide People’s Choice Awards. The show made a comeback in 2024 on Sky TV as The ACC Does Game of Two Halves.
