The seventh episode of Pioneer House sees the Feyen family celebrating youngest child Jessie’s 12th birthday — as it would have been in the Victorian era. After seven weeks living like it’s 1900, even birthday presents need the historical treatment. Stefan gets busy building a handcrafted carrier for Jessie’s furry birthday surprise, before the family gathers for homemade cake and handmade presents. Later, maid Erin struggles to keep up with the household demands, while the Feyens take the ferry to Devonport for a beach day but, with women barred from public bathing, the girls are left on the sidelines.
