Overview
Formed in Auckland in 1996 by four teenagers entering a school talent show, Moizna put a local female spin on the hip hop, neo-soul and R&B sounds of the era. Spotted by music mogul (and talent show judge) Phil Fuemana, the group joined Fuemana’s Urban Pacifika Records and in 1997 their debut single, ‘Just Another Day’, reached No. 6 on the New Zealand Top 40. Second single ‘Keep On Moving’ followed later that year, and Moizna contributed two new songs (and backing vocals on others) to Urban Pacifika Records’ 1999 compilation Pioneers Of A Pacifikan Frontier before disbanding.
