Martin Henderson's Hollywood leading roles have seen him fighting strange forces (The Ring), globalisation (Battle in Seattle), and dancing (Bride & Prejudice). In at the launch of Shortland Street in 1992, Henderson has gone on to work in Australia and the United States. Variety magazine called his drug-dealing amputee in Aussie feature Little Fish "a revelation", and he was Logie nominated after playing a murder suspect in 2014 miniseries Secrets and Lies. Since then Henderson has had ongoing roles on hit shows Grey's Anatomy and Virgin River; and has made return visits for Kiwi projects Absent Without Leave, My Life is Murder and Madam.
