Christchurch-raised Alan Henderson enjoyed a busy career in Aotearoa’s television industry, working across various roles and cities through 30+ years in the business. Starting out in the 1980s as a camera operator at TVNZ's Christchurch studios, he went on to work as a director, a producer at Sky Sports  and as the voice and puppeteer behind childrens television icon Thingee. Henderson died on 15 February 2020. 

Biography

After growing up in the small Canterbury town of Darfield, Alan Henderson began his screen career in the 1980s as a camera operator at TVNZ's Christchurch studios. It was during his time working on After School that he was hired to voice and puppeteer a brand new character for the kids show.
