Chelsea Winstanley was Oscar-nominated in 2020 as a producer of Jojo Rabbit. She also produced the 2018 documentary Merata: How Mum Decolonised the Screen about Māori director Merata Mita, and co-produced vampire hit What We Do in the Shadows. Her directorial CV includes short films, a 2005 documentary on activist Tāme Iti, and being one of the team behind acclaimed anthology film Waru. Her feature debut as a solo director, arts documentary TOITŪ Visual Sovereignty, premiered at the 2025 NZ International Film Festival. She launched her LA and Aotearoa-based production company, This Too Shall Pass, in 2020.
