Since graduating with honours in composition from Auckland University in 2006,  Claire Cowan has made waves with her sounds. Working in a range of genres for both stage and screen, Cowan was awarded a Silver Scroll in 2017 for her work on Hillary, a miniseries about iconic mountaineer Edmund Hillary. Cowan has also composed for telefeature Runaway Millionaires (2019) — which won Best Original Score at the 2020 NZ Television Awards — and two seasons each of TV thriller One Lane Bridge (2020) and drama Under The Vines. In 2021, she was named Te Kaipuoro Inamata Toa/ Best Classical Artist at the APRA AMCOS Awards.
