Comedian James Mustapic first rose to national prominence through his YouTube series Shorty Street Scandal, which humorously recapped Shortland Street episodes. Since then, he has written and/or performed on such shows as 7 Days, Guy Mont's Spelling Bee and Seven Sharp, as well as spearheading his own comedy series like Repressed Memories and Abandonment Issues, which explore pop culture. His 2024 television show James Must-a-Pic a Man for his Mum follows him trying to set his single mother up on dates. Mustapic has also won national awards for stand-up comedy, and won 2023's Celebrity Treasure Island.
