June Bishop

Actor

June Bishop worked for many years in English theatre before moving to New Zealand in 1988, to be closer to her son. In 1992 she played "strongwilled matriarch" Isabella in short-lived TV3 family drama Homeward Bound. Later she co-starred as a sick elderly woman in Sima Urale's award-winning short film Still Life (2001). Bishop has had a wide variety of screen roles, from horse drama Riding High to oddball comedy flick User Friendly, to several stints on Shortland Street. In her 90s, she appeared in black comedy series Fresh Eggs (2018) and family film Kiwi Christmas (2017).
