Since graduating from drama school Toi Whakaari in 2011, Auckland-based Leon Wadham has been a familiar face on Kiwi television — including on shows Go Girls and The Bad Seed. Wadham first tried out directing at high school in Wellington, where he and a friend won a nationwide film contest. Later he went behind the scenes on a range of comedy shows, including directing three seasons of Alice Snedden's Bad News, writing on Sunny Skies, and directing for Golden Boy and The Citizen's Handbook. In 2022 Wadham landed a role in high profile Amazon series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, as spoilt young nobleman Kemen.

“I definitely wanted to prepare myself for the possibility that I'd need to be doing something else, but I'd rather stay in storytelling. I’d rather get to work with actors and directors, no matter the role I'm in, seeing different approaches, exploring different genres and narratives — to always be in that furnace.”
