Christchurch-born actor Michael Whalley has appeared in movies, television shows and theatre productions, both at home and across the ditch. The Toi Whakaari acting graduate been in the supporting cast of Jean, Western Slow West and Out of the Blue, but has worked most prolifically in Australia including starring as an imaginary friend in acclaimed 2018 movie The Pretend One. His work in Australia also includes season three of Rebecca Gibney series Wanted, and Angelina Jolie-directed WWll drama Unbroken. Whalley played the grown-up Ron Weasley in a Melbourne stage production of Harry Potter and The Cursed Child.
