Paul Wedel often works as an editor, but he's a dab hand behind the camera as well. Born in Canada, Wedel moved to New Zealand in 2004. Around the time he was editing Trinity Roots documentary Music is Choice (2010), Wedel began collaborating with David White. The two went on to co-direct a run of short documentaries, usually with Wedel behind the camera. When White made his first feature Meat (2017), Wedel was editor and cinematographer. The documentary continued the pair's preoccupation with people who farm and kill animals for other people's meals. Wedel edited White's first movie comedy, This Town, in 2020.

“I love making films. It can be brutal and fantastic, often at the same time.”
