Iranian-born Roxie Mohebbi was five when she moved with her family to New Zealand as a refugee. She worked as an emergency neonatal nurse before deciding to pursue a career as an actor. Mohebbi has had roles in fantasy Netflix series The New Legends of Monkey (2020), moody crime drama series One Lane Bridge (2022), and comedy web series Kid Sister (2022). In 2021 Mohebbi stepped back into the hospital for her role as trainee surgeon Dr Samira Moradi for two seasons of Shortland Street. In 2024 she featured in both drama comedy series Miles from Nowhere, and post-punk feature Head South.
