Ad agency creative-turned-director Steve Ayson gained attention with 2001 supernatural short The French Doors (winner of Locarno’s 'Leopard of Tomorrow' award). He has collaborated on shorts with partner Jane Shearer, co-directing Bird (2011), and as a writer on Nature’s Way (2006) and Show Home (2023). A recognised director of commercials, Ayson's local efforts include iconic Ghost Chips and Lotto Lucky Dog campaigns, internationally he has helmed high-profile campaigns for brands like Nike and Old Spice. His ad work has earned multiple Directors Guild of America nominations, and in 2018 he launched production company 3&7.
