800 Words was a hit on both sides of the Tasman. The show follows George, a Sydney writer who moves his family back to the Kiwi seaside town where he grew up, after his wife's death. Erik Thomson (Packed to the Rafters) scored an Australian Logie Award for playing George. Season two (there were three in all) won an NZ TV Award for Best Drama Series. Created by Kiwis James Griffin and Maxine Fleming, 800 Words was made by South Pacific Pictures and Australia's Seven Network. Dutch remake Zomer in Zeeland ran for one season.
