Another Country

Television, 1992

Another Country gave emerging filmmakers the chance to bridge the gap between making short films and their first feature. Six half-hour dramas were planned, but only three were made. The three were TV Guide Award nominee The Summer the Queen Came, written and directed by Niki Caro (Whale Rider), 60s family tale Revelations, from Athina Tsoulis (Jinx Sister), and black comedy The Wall, from casting director Diana Rowan (short film Christmas Shopping). The dramas received funding from NZ On Air and the NZ Film Commission.
