Clap Clap Riot

Originating from Canterbury, Clap Clap Riot are a millenial Kiwi addition to the guitar-pop genre, and arrived with in-built acclaim (their band name supposedly comes from the applause machine used on UK music show Top of the Pops). Summer festival gigs, a 2009 EP ('V Knows Better') and a win in an MTV 'Kick Start Your Career' contest preceded the release of 2012 album Counting Spins. It was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2012 NZ Music Awards. Second album Nobody / Everybody followed in 2014.
