Ethnic Cooking

Television, 1993–1996

Ethnic Cooking explores global cuisines, bringing a taste of traditional recipes from cultures around the world to New Zealand. Presented initially by Geeling Ng and hospitality veteran Ted Bryant — and later Bryant and Kim Webby — each episode explores a different country's culinary heritage, with recipe demonstrations from local chefs and restaurateurs. The series ran for three seasons from 1993 to 1996, with 52 episodes featuring cuisines from across the globe, including Malaysian, Italian, Ethiopian and Persian. Produced by Isambard Productions for TVNZ, the show was developed in consultation with the Auckland Ethnic Council.
