Jonah

Television, 2019

TV biopic Jonah tells the life story of Jonah Lomu, the shy, physically imposing Tongan All Black who shot to global fame at the 1995 Rugby World Cup. The two-part drama covers Lomu's life story — from his South Auckland childhood, to his breakout All Black performance at age 19, his struggles with fame and money and the kidney disease that ended his roller-coaster life aged 40. Jonah Lomu is played by Mosese Veaila and Kelson Henderson plays Lomu's ambitious manager Phil Kingsley Jones. Jonah was written by Pip Hall (One Lane Bridge), Halaifonua Finau (Red, White & Brass) and director Danny Mulheron.
