Auckland comedian Philip Patston promises to lighten the mood, while Elizabeth Smyth looks forward to Christchurch hosting the 1998 World Disabled Swimming Champs. The second half of the episode focusses on major findings from the inaugural 1997 Household Disability Survey, celebrates the life of ex-athlete and Rehabilitation International President John Stott, and introduces two key appointments for the IHC and DPA (Disabled Persons Assembly).
