Launched over five consecutive nights on TVNZ1, murder mystery The Bad Seed is a tale of fractured families and rich people with secrets. Matt Minto (Shortland Street) plays Simon, an obstetrician who becomes a murder suspect after his alibi conflicts with his wife (Jodie Hillock, from What Really Happened - Votes for Women). Simon's brother (Dean O'Gorman) covers up for him. The award-winning script was adapted from Charlotte Grimshaw's novels The Night Book and Soon; the cast includes Madeleine Sami and Xavier Horan.
