Dick Move
Overview
Self-described socialist punk band Dick Move formed at Karangahape Road’s iconic Auckland music venue Whammy! Bar in 2019. Their debut album Chop! came in 2020, followed by Wet! in 2023, both on 1:12 Records, who joined forces with Flying Nun Records for the release of 2025’s Dream, Believe, Achieve. The latter saw Dick Move become repeat Taite Music Prize finalists, while director Stella Reid won an Aotearoa Music Award for their Scared Old Men music video. The band’s extensive touring includes shows across Aotearoa, Australia and Europe and three stadium shows opening for Foo Fighters in 2024.
