The feminist and socialist leanings of Auckland punk band Dick Move are to the fore in 'Scared Old Men'. As vocalist Lucy Suttor hypnotically recites the ills of the title’s scared old men — throwing tantrums, banning abortions, hurting women, busting unions and plenty more — she’s surrounded by men clad in identical tracksuits, wearing creepy flesh-coloured masks, striding and sometimes dancing around her. Depicted as a cleaner, Suttor’s patience is thin and evident fury grows, grappling with both the literal and societal mess of the patriarchy in this Aotearoa Music Award-winning video directed by Stella Reid.
