Andrew Moore

Andrew Moore's passion project No More Heroes pays tribute to New Zealand's golden age of skateboarding. The feature-length documentary debuted to impressive audiences at the 2006 NZ International Film Festival. Although modest about it, Moore has some skating history of his own — he was New Zealand Junior Champion in 1979. Moore began by selling his skateboarding videos on videotape, but these days he's more likely to be filming guitars. The longtime musician has directed videos for The 3Ds, The Exponents, The D4 and Voom. In 2023 he and Cushla Dillion unveiled a feature documentary about cult noisemakers King Loser.

I’m immensely proud of it, and feel it captures a slice of Kiwi history that hasn’t been documented. Skateboarding has given me so much in my lifetime, and this is my gift back to skateboarding. Andrew Moore writes about his film No More Heroes for NZ On Screen, 20 January 2023
