Raised by a Malaysian-Chinese father and Pākehā mother, journalist and presenter Chris Chang largely grew up in Wellington, but also spent six years living in Asia as a child. After studying English and Law at Victoria University, and gaining a post-graduate journalism degree at Auckland University of Technology, Chang soon became an intern at Television New Zealand — where he has been ever since. An avid sports fan, Chang has largely worked as a sports reporter for One News, and has also supported Breakfast as a producer, weather reporter and fill-in presenter. Chang joined the core Breakfast presenter team in early 2023.
