Ken Saville left TVNZ in 1980 to pursue a freelance career in sound recording, and has since worked up an impressively long filmography of both locally and internationally-shot films and television series. His work can be heard in many of Peter Jackson and Gaylene Preston’s films; he also contributed to the BAFTA nominated soundtrack of District 9.

Biography

Ken Saville has been recording sound for the New Zealand screen industry for almost five decades. His impressively long filmography includes notable titles such as VigilFootrot Flats: The Dog’s TaleThe Lord of the Rings, Perfect Strangers, and Forgotten Silver.  He has won awards for his work on movies Boy and Predicament, and was part of the BAFTA-nominated sound team on District 9.
