Whanganui-born Robert Tripe graduated from acting school Toi Whakaari in 1999, and later spent time as Vice President of Australian union MEAA (Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance). Among his many stage performances, he was nominated for Chapman Tripp awards for Death of a Salesman and The Cherry Orchard. He also acted on television (including a spell as defence lawyer Lawrence Cunningham on Shortland Street) and films (Radio Hauraki tale 3 Mile Limit). Robert Tripe passed away on 2 November 2014. He was 41.
