Biography
At the age of eight, Sara Stretton wrote to the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation requesting a scheduling change for Doctor Who. The show screened on Friday nights at 9pm, the only time she was allowed to stay up late, but she found it too scary and couldn’t sleep afterwards. Looking back, she laughs that perhaps she should have recognised it as a sign: "It should have been an indication of what was coming up, but nope, I ignored all the signs."

“The biggest thing television gave me was the privilege of walking into people's homes and lives, and appreciating the full breadth and depth of the people who share this country.”
