Auckland cinematographer Simon Ellis has worked in the screen industry since 1983. After early roles with TVNZ and the production company Kids TV, he moved into freelance work in 1995. Since then, he has built a broad portfolio behind the camera, capturing reality series such as The Block NZ, MasterChef New Zealand, New Zealand's Got Talent and SPCA Rescue. He has shot a number of documentaries — including Whānau and On Tour With The All Black Army — alongside sports, news and current affairs. Ellis has also filmed in Australia and further afield on international productions.
