About

In this fly on the wall documentary, cameras capture a group of five-year-old girls as they make friends, wrestle for power and stick up for each other at an Auckland kindergarten. Specially designed games reveal how the girls negotiate their place in the world, and 'practise' being adults. Watching and commenting across two episodes are developmental psychologist Annette Henderson and neuroscience educator Nathan Wallis. Part two sees leadership battles, a test of delayed gratification, and the arrival of new dramas: boys. The TV special marked the 125th anniversary of New Zealand women's right to vote.
