New Zealand at Home

Television, 2006

New Zealand at Home takes a look at the unique architecture of New Zealand houses, and how styles have evolved over time. The eight-episode series begins with the homes of early Māori and Pākehā settlers — including a whole episode on the love-or-loathe it villa. Among the houses profiled are state houses, bungalows and the distinct Christchurch and Auckland architectural style that developed in the 20th century. Design historian Douglas Lloyd Jenkins (co-host of 2001's The Big Art Trip) presents.
