Randa

Keen on hip hop during high school, Randa began rapping at 16 and started making their own beats two years later. Quickly gaining attention online in New Zealand alternative music circles, Randa (aka Mainard Larkin) soon began performing. Within the year they'd managed to secure opening slots for acclaimed international acts Grimes and Crystal Castles. In 2014 the transgender artist took home the Critic’s Choice Prize at the Vodafone NZ Music Awards. As of late 2022, Randa had released four EPs alongside a clutch of singles. In 2018 they featured in an Air New Zealand safety video, alongside Kings, Theia and actor Julian Dennison.
