Tadpole

Fusing metal, pop and dance elements together with Renee Brennan’s polished vocals, Tadpole hit on a winning formula with their 2000 debut The Buddhafinger. Backed by relentless touring, the album went double platinum in New Zealand, with six hit singles (including 'For Me', 'Alright' and 'Backdoor'). Main stage slots at the Big Day Out and overseas label interest followed for the band, who chose their name because it was the one they "hated the least". Subsequent albums The Medusa (another Top 10 hit) and Tadpole were marred by constant line-up changes, and the group broke up in 2006 — having played more than 1500 shows.
