After working everywhere from London to Auckland, Italian/Cypriot chef and restauranteer Angelo Georgalli moved to Wanaka with his family, aiming to live off the land. Georgalli presents his skills in this lifestyle series, demonstrating how to hunt, fish, and prepare mouth-watering meals with the bounty. Across ten episodes, he traverses the terrain of Central Otago hunting salmon, rabbit, wild boar, brown trout, fallow deer and more, which he then cooks on his "rustic portable kitchen". Running for one season, The Game Chef screened in 90 countries. It spawned a cookbook of the same name — as did follow-up series Angelo's Outdoor Kitchen.
