For his third feature film, Alex Galvin echoes the confined settings and dark dealings of his first, When Night Falls. An actor arrives at a Wellington theatre one night, after being thrown into a dress rehearsal for ghost story The Turn of the Screw. Soon she starts to fear that she is being haunted for real. The film was inspired by the classic 1898 novella by American Henry James. Starring are Greer Phillips (short film The Last Man on Earth) and Jane Waddell (Gliding On). The film's April 2020 premiere was delayed until August, after Aotearoa went into lockdown to fight the Covid-19 virus.
This is, after all, a horror story.– Richard (Ralph Johnson) to Julia (Greer Phillips)
