Visual Symphonies

Television, 1991

Comedy collided with travel in this 10-part series from 1991. Visual Symphonies was presented by Ginette McDonald, proudly in character as her gum-chewing creation Lynn of Tawa. Visiting regions across Aotearoa and Australia, Lynn interviewed locals famous and lesser-known, while exploring local sights and comedic opportunities. The TV One show was directed and co-written by McDonald's brother Michael, who'd worked on earlier Lynn of Tawa scripts. The destinations included Otago, Auckland and the Australian Outback.
