Inclement spring weather puts the Hutton family’s pioneer experiment to the test in this episode of Colonial House, as the family live as they would have in the 1850s. A trip to church in their Sunday best takes a turn when they are caught in a downpour, forcing all six to huddle together in their tiny tent and wait out the storm. But when the skies finally clear, there’s no time to relax: the family must get to work baking bread over the campfire, milking the cow and buying grocery staples. While the women get stuck into their chores, the young boys have other ideas, heading off to the river to try their luck at eeling.
