It’s dinner party time at the Hutton household as mum Dorothy prepares to host the family’s first formal 1850s-style dinner in this episode of Colonial House. But before the invitations can go out, Ross must build the family a proper kitchen cookhouse, complete with a brick oven. Meanwhile, Dorothy gets busy ironing table linen and preparing a multi-course feast with the help of a hired maid, while the children head off to practise their etiquette. With the table set and everyone on their best behaviour, the Huttons welcome a guest from the local historical society, who arrives with some surprise entertainment for the evening.
