Overview
Soul/R&B; singer Aaradhna Jayantilal Patel was born in Wellington, to Samoan and Indian parents. In 2004 she sang with Adeaze on chart topper ‘Getting Stronger’. In 2006 her album I Love You was released by Dawn Raid Entertainment; it spawned top five singles 'Down Time' and 'I Love You Too'. Covers album Sweet Soul Music followed, then Treble and Reverb (2012), which began while she was living in Romania. In 2016 Aaradhna turned down a Best Hip Hop Artist award for album Brown Girl, saying she was not a hip hop artist and that she'd been "placed in the category of brown people". Her fourth album Sweet Surrender dropped in 2024.
