Grant McKinnon is a New Zealand cinematographer with a hands-on background in lighting and camera operating. His screenography includes a prolific slate of celebrated short films, including Sparrow and Ross & Beth, which both won awards for cinematography. In 2002 he shot his first feature film, Harry Sinclair's romantic comedy Toy Love. He juggles film work with a variety of television series, including comedy (Super City), drama (Vegas, Head High) and documentary (Funny As). McKinnon was the cinematographer on big screen rural drama Bellbird and Ka Whawhai Tonu, which dramatises a key battle in the New Zealand Wars
