Auckland-based editor Jason Pengelly got started in the industry after studying Fine Arts at Auckland University. His screen work includes travel show Te Araroa: Tales From The Trails (2015), quirky murder mystery Who Killed Lucy the Poodle? (2019), and political comedy Sextortion (2020). Since 2009, Pengelly has served as an editor for comedy panel series 7 Days. In 2019 he made his feature debut with rural tale Bellbird. It was directed by Hamish Bennett, who Pengelly had previously collaborated with on shorts The Dump, Ross and Beth, and Tihei. In 2024 he edited documentary I Am A Dark River (on printmaker/publisher Bob Lowry).
