NZ Features at Whānau Mārama: 2025 NZ International Film Festival
It's film festival time again: Whānau Mārama launches in Auckland on 31 July, before hitting nine other locales across the motu in August and early September. Alongside two collections of local short films, New Zealand has contributed an impressive run of documentaries. There are films about Jacinda Ardern, three legendary local creatives, a Māori art exhbition and mixed martial arts fighters — plus classics on women during WWII and legendary filmmaker Colin McKenzie. On the feature front, there are comedies about zombies, psychic fish, and romance at the theatre, and a moody tale of two people possessed. Some don't have trailers yet; we'll add them as soon as we can.
