This short film follows Pasifika school friends Siosi (Johnny Angel), Matt (Faifua Amiga) and John (Robert Luisi), as they anxiously await their School Certificate results. On the day he receives his grades, Siosi is beaten and insulted by his father (Ene Petaia), but an even greater tragedy is about to occur within his circle of friends. The event acts as a catalyst for Siosi and his father to reconcile. Tala Pasifika was a pioneering Pacific Island drama series. Mario Goa's story was one of six that screened on TV One in 1996; that year, it was nominated for an award at Canadian indigenous film festival Dreamspeakers.
